While every child living within PUSD boundaries is assured placement in their neighborhood school, a different campus might offer a specialized program or focus that better meets the interests and needs of the individual student.

PUSD's annual winter Open Enrollment process offers families an opportunity to apply to attend a school other than their assigned neighborhood school in the next academic year.

Coming Up: PUSD Second Lottery Applications and Applications of Interest for Non-Residents

April 2—6, 2018

Pasadena Unified School District’s second Open Enrollment-School Choice application period for the 2018-19 academic year is Monday, April 2 through Friday, April 6, 2018.

Students currently residing within PUSD boundaries who have not already registered during a previous phase of 2018-19 Open Enrollment-School Choice are eligible to apply for any remaining seats offered in the upcoming second lottery.

Families living outside of PUSD boundaries may submit an Application of Interest for spots that may be available in the District’s Academies, dual language and signature programs—including the International Baccalaureate Program—and at the four magnet schools.

To participate in Open Enrollment-School Choice, families complete applications online at openenrollment.info. Staff will assist families who need help submitting applications Friday, April 6, 12:30-4:30 p.m. in Room 240 at the Ed Center, 351 S. Hudson Avenue.

Students must be entering kindergarten-12th grade next school year and only one application may be submitted per student.

Applicants may indicate up to five school and/or program choices in order of preference.

PUSD families participating in Open Enrollment will be notified of school placement and registration deadlines at openenrollment.info on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Non-PUSD families will be notified by phone or email beginning Monday, May 14, 2018.
